The National Weather Service released an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 4:40 p.m. on Sunday in effect until 5:15 p.m. for Berkshire County.
The storms could bring wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail (1 inch).
“At 4:40 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Becket, or 9 miles southeast of Pittsfield, moving southeast at 35 mph,” according to the weather service. “Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.”
