Two Mass. colleges in financial ‘danger,’ accreditation agency finds

Anna Maria College in Paxton and Montserrat College of Art in Beverly are both “in danger” of not meeting institutional resources, according to letters sent in recent months from the accreditation agency, the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).

The commission issues the letters if it is concerned by a component of an institution’s viability, such as its financial resources, but still meets the standards for accreditation, according to Larry Shaw, president of NECHE.
