The Patriots and left tackle Trent Brown agreed to a revised contract that adds incentives but not term to the 30-year-old lineman’s deal.
Through a source, MassLive’s Mark Daniels confirmed the report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who tweeted:
“New England OT Trent Brown agreed to a revised, improved contract with the Patriots, with the team adding $2 million worth of incentives to his contract for this season, making his deal worth up to $13 million total compensation. Brown still is set to become a free agent after the season. The deal was negotiated by agent Drew Rosenhaus and Patriots’ executive Matt Groh.”

Brown, a 6-foot-8, 380-pound tackle, is in his second stint with the Patriots after winning a Super Bowl with New England in 2018. He spent two years with the Raiders in 2019 and 2020, but returned in 2021. He’s been mostly durable playing all 16 regular season games in 2018 and all 17 last year and missing seven Patriots games in 2021.
He missed Sunday night’s game with a concussion and the Patriots run and passed game missed him. Brown missed reps early in training camp sparking speculation that he was limiting his participation in hopes of reworking his contract. He denied that he was staging a hold-in or that his contract was the reason for his slow ramp-up.
