SOUTHWICK — The town’s attorney has found that Select Board member Jason Perron didn’t violate any conflict-of-interest laws when he called for a School Committee member to resign in February.
“I do not believe Mr. Perron comments or emails resulted in a violation of the conflict of interest laws,” Town Attorney Benjamin Coyle wrote in an email to board member Diane Gale, who requested the inquiry, on June 28.
Perron had asked for the resignation of a Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School Committee member whose child was allegedly involved in a racist incident at Southwick Regional School. Critics had noted that Perron made his statement using his official town email, and that his wife was a candidate running for School Committee at the time.
