WESTFIELD — On Saturday, Oct. 4, residents and visitors will have a unique opportunity to visit centers of local history not always open to the public. The Tri-Town History Trail offers free admission between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the Westfield Athenaeum archives, the Old Burying Grounds and Dewey House in Westfield, the Southwick History Museum and the Noble & Cooley Center for Historic Preservation in Granville.
Westfield Athenaeum Archivist Max Vivacqua said this will be the third year that the Athenaeum will participate in the Tri-Town History Trail, which he said has a loose theme this year of local manufacturing. “We’re always glad to do something that can get people interested in our local history,” he said.
