A county in Massachusetts was listed atop the 150 most expensive typical home values in the U.S. in December 2023, according to the latest Zillow data.
Nantucket County, with an average home value of $2,579,626, ranked the highest among seven Massachusetts counties that were listed.
The rest of the Massachusetts counties that made the list were:
- Dukes County (6) with an average home value of $1,457,273
- Middlesex County (44) with an average home value of $728,982
- Barnstable County (53) with an average home value of $688,888
- Norfolk County (54) with an average home value of $683,098
- Suffolk County (56) with an average home value of $681,683
- Essex County (75) with an average home value of $637,170
- Plymouth County (104) with an average home value of $571,267
Zillow’s calculation of “typical home value” is a trimmed mean, and behaves like a median value would to get a more accurate representation estimate, Jeff Tucker, senior economist at Zillow, told NJ.com in an interview.
