The series adapts the John Grisham best-selling novel of the same name and comes from Michael Seitzman, Jason Richman, John Grisham, David Gernert, and Jason Blum. The book was released in 1995 and adapted to film soon after by director Francis Ford Coppola in 1997. Its cast included Matt Damon as Rudy S. Baylor and Danny DeVito as Deck Shifflet.
