The Big E had its largest crowd and first 6-figure day of the 2023 season on Thursday.
There were 108,962 guests who attended The Big E Thursday. It was also a daily attendance record.
Attendance was also high on Wednesday with 95,689 guests and was another daily attendance record, according to The Big E.
But between an increase in ticket prices and rainy weather, some people told MassLive they haven’t been going to The Big E like they have in years past.
Some of the most popular food vendors at The Big E told MassLive they saw a drop in sales after a rainy weekend and low attendance, according to those working behind the stands.
In 2022, most weekend attendance numbers ranged from 87,000 to 177,789 per day. This year, weekend attendance numbers have ranged from 69,042 to 95,541 people per day.
Overall, 1,033,591 people have attended The Big E this year.
Ahead of the final weekend, more rain has hit Western Massachusetts.
It has already been a rainy Friday. And it is expected to continue until Saturday with it possibly lasting until Saturday at noon.
