MCKINNEY, Texas — A police K-9 was killed during a standoff at a McKinney motel on March 13, FOX 4 reported.

The incident began when McKinney Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at a motel, according to the report. Responding officers found a 52-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital and is stable.

The suspect barricaded himself inside a motel room, and SWAT officers were called in. During negotiations, police say the suspect threatened to “shoot everyone,” according to the report.
