A 19-year-old man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Taunton on Tuesday evening, police said.
Taunton police and firefighters went to 450 Somerset Ave. at around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a person shot. There, they found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest, Police Chief Edward Walsh said in a statement.
The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, Walsh said.
The shooting remains under investigation by Taunton Police. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call detectives at 508-821-1475.
