‘Take the L.’ Colts QB trolled Patriots with Fortnite dance after game-winning score

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson added insult to injury at the end of the New England Patriots’ heartbreaking loss at Gillette Stadium.

Not only did Richardson bust through the Patriots defense for a game-winning two-point conversion. The 22-year-old hit them with a Fortnite dance as well. You can see the play and the celebration here.

Specifically, Richardson performed what’s called the “Take the L” emote from “Fortnite.” The battle royal-style video game is popular among younger generations and has helped popularize emotes and dance moves like the “Floss.”

Richardson had an up-and-down outing overall for Indy. he finished the day 12-of-24 passing for 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also ran the ball 9 times for 48 yards and a score.

Richardson wasn’t prolific against New England, but he did help fuel the Colts on scoring drives when they needed it most.

The second-year quarterback was at his best on the Colts’ final drive, a 19-play, 66-yard march down the field in the closing minutes.

With 17 seconds left in the game on 4th-and-3, Richardson hit receiver Alex Pierce to make it a 25-24 game. He then took the ball himself on the two-point conversion (and the Fortnite dance).

The Patriots had a chance to pull off a miracle at the end when Joey Slye attempted a 68-yard field goal with ones second left on the clock. But the kick fell short.
