A luxury pet-friendly hotel in Massachusetts is letting wedding couples trade their best man for man’s best friend on their special day.
Couples who opt for one of two options under the “Pawfect Union” wedding package at Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston can say “I do” with a furry witness.
A couple getting married at the hotel can book Cori Copley, the Fairmount’s official canine ambassador, as their wedding witness for $1,000 as part of the “Cori Package.”
Aside from Cori serving as the on-site ceremonial witness, the “Cori Package” includes the following components:
- A pre-wedding bath at Onyva dog spa on Newbury Street
- A custom faux floral collar in the couple’s wedding colors
- A marriage certificate for Cori to “paw-tograph”
- A photo session with Cori and the couple
- A suite assignment in the Catie Copley Suite for the night of the wedding (subject to availability)
- A commissioned custom wedding portrait illustration featuring the couple with Cori
Meanwhile, the “Couple’s Dog Package” includes everything in the “Cori Package,” except for Cori herself. A couple getting married at the hotel can have their own dog be their witness for $750. The package also includes an exclusive discount on For the Love of Paws’ wedding day pet services.
Massachusetts law does not require a witness to solemnize wedding ceremonies, according to the City of Boston’s website. This technically means that dogs can assume the role.
Interested couples can visit Fairmount Copley Plaza’s wedding packages website for booking information.
