SOUTHWICK – Last year, the state Department of Transportation reached out to the town’s DPW to let it know that the repaving of Granville Road had been included in its Municipal Paving Program, which came as a surprise to the staff, but also meant the road needed its drainage inspected and repaired for the project to start.
“It came as a surprise to [us] and we scrambled to start doing a whole lot of stormwater mapping,” said Jon Goddard, the DPW’s assistant director referring to former DPW Director Randy Brown and DPW Supervisor Rich Bosak.
The subject came up during the Select Board’s meeting when the board members asked Goddard and the town’s upcoming road repair projects.
