FOXBOROUGH – Stefon Diggs has been on playoff teams before. He’s been on teams that have clinched early.
The star receiver is happy to be going back to the dance, but even with a playoff ticket secured, has a message for his teammates.
“Don’t let your foot off the gas. Don’t get comfortable,” Diggs said during his session with the media Wednesday. “You’re going to the playoffs, cool. But you’ll be out of the playoffs faster than you know if you don’t play good ball consistently, week in and week out.”
Diggs, who was a significant contributor in Sunday’s playoff clinching win over Baltimore with nine catches for 138 yards, said it’s important for the Patriots to finish strong in their remaining two games, starting with the New York Jets this week.
They’re 12-3, but still trying to wrap up the division, as well as the AFC’s top seed.
“When you go into the postseason, you want to be hitting on all cylinders. You want to be healthy and you want to be in a good spot,” he said. “It’s good in these last two weeks to be playing good football, something you can be proud of something you can look at on tape and say, ‘OK, we’re going in the right direction.’’’
