Starting Six: Pope Francis boys hockey players to watch this winter

The Pope Francis boys’ hockey team experienced another memorable season. In March, under interim coach Daniel Fenton, they fell one game short of competing in the Division I state quarterfinals. The Cardinals were paced by a trio of athletes recognized at the 58th annual Amo Bessone Committee Award Ceremony earlier this year.

Jacob Jarrell shared the “Overall MVP” award alongside Owen Hall of West Springfield, while Jake Petrin and Zachary Buffone also shared the “Top Forward” and “Top Defenseman” awards with other deserving athletes inside the region.
