A woman from Springfield who won $1 million playing the lottery is planning on buying new appliances with her prize.
Tawanda Brown, of Springfield, won $1 million in the “$2,000,000 Diamond Cashword” scratch ticket game.
Brown chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
Brown told the lottery she wants to put the winnings toward a new washer and dryer, and some home repairs.
The Springfield woman bought her winning ticket at the Pride Station located at 1110 Wilbraham Ave. The shop will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
