SPRINGFIELD — More than 20 city employees made more than $200,000 last year, according to payroll records obtained by The Republican. The majority of those earners worked in the Springfield Police Department.
The top-paid person last year was Deryl Blanks, a classroom teacher who received $477,129. It’s not regular salary pay and is the result of a lawsuit, said Cathy Buono, the city’s chief administrative and financial officer.
