SPRINGFIELD — Last year, Springfield had the worst air pollution on average of any city monitored by the state.
“It does look pretty bad for Springfield,” said Rusty Polsgrove, environmental justice organizer at Arise for Social Justice. “We receive a lot of it due to industry in the area, as well as geography. We’ve been very concerned about it.”
