SPRINGFIELD — One resident was displaced after a fire damaged a home in the Pine Point section of the city Tuesday evening.
The fire was reported at about 6:20 p.m. in a single-story home at 59 Woodruff St. Fire crews extinguished the flames quickly, fire Capt. Drew Piemonte said.
No one was injured in the fire, and the resident is being assisted by the American Red Cross of Western Massachusetts, he said.
The department’s Arson and Bomb Squad ruled that an electrical malfunction caused the fire, he said.
