SPRINGFIELD – At a recent meeting, the City Council was asked to pay a bill that had been lost for three years. It had been sent to the capital of Illinois.
Whoops.
The bill for $4,079.32 was relatively small and so old that Treasurer-Collector Stephen Lonergan wasn’t sure what it was for — but because of the mix-up was able to void any late fees.
