Southwick’s LMC pushes back on harbormaster decision on Gem Marina

SOUTHWICK — The Lake Management Committee was blindsided in January when it learned that Ken Eggleston, the owner of Gem Marina, had gotten approval from the harbormaster to revert his two floating docks to its original 40-slips configuration, and like it has done since the marina was proposed, it’s pushing back.

“We were not even aware of it going on,” said Richard Grannells, the chair of the town’s LMC, about Police Chief-Harbormaster Rhett Bannish approving Eggleston’s request to add four slips, during the committee’s meeting last week.
