SOUTHWICK – When the Select Board met earlier this week, in addition to choosing a replacement for the retiring Emergency Management Agency director, the board hired two new police officers and one new firefighter/paramedic.
“This is a difficult decision. This is the hardest part of being on this side of the table,” said Board Vice Chair Jason Perron before he voted with Chair Doug Moglin and Board Clerk Diane Gale to appoint former Southwick Fire Chief Russ Anderson to replace Charles Dunlap, who retired as the EMA’s director after 30 years last month.
Last week, the board interviewed former Anderson and current EMA volunteer Iain White, who attended the board meeting Monday night.
