SOUTHWICK — When the filing deadline for applications for two retail cannabis permits closed on Friday, five businesses submitted the paperwork to the town required to apply.
All the five applicants have previous experience in the state’s cannabis industry.
Southwick resident James Jaron, the current owner of Holyoke Cannabis, was the first to apply. If chosen by the Select Board, he will do business as the Southwick Dispensary under the corporate name Holyoke 420 LLC. Jaron tentatively identified 561 College Highway at the site of the dispensary.
