SOUTHWICK — The Lake Management Committee learned last week that state officials had turned down their application for a grant to dredge the area in front of a boat ramp on Middle Pond of Congamond Lake.
“We’re in hope mode now,” committee member Richard Grannells said July 12.
Grannells said part of his hope is the possibility that the money needed for the project, estimated at about $500,000, will come from an earmark he said state Rep. Nicholas Boldyga and state Sen. Paul Mark have said they will consider proposing in the House and Senate.
