* Garrett Cooper will join the Red Sox Tuesday. He will not, in any way, impact the balance of power in the American League East and to expect otherwise is foolish. He’s a decent first base option — no more, no less — with the ability to provide competitive at-bats, and that’s more than the Red Sox have now.
So expectations should be kept firmly in check.
