Nearly a year has passed since the Miss Hall’s School community was first rocked by allegations that a former teacher sexually exploited multiple students and was repeatedly protected by school administrators who had been alerted to his inappropriate behavior with students over a decade prior.
Since then, 63-year-old history teacher Matthew Rutledge and former Dean of Students Sarah Virden have resigned from their positions at the Pittsfield girls boarding school, and law enforcement agencies and Miss Hall’s itself have opened investigations into the allegations against Rutledge.
