A man in his 50s who was unaccounted for after a boat capsized off Salisbury Beach was not found after a second day of searching on Sunday, Massachusetts State Police said.
The man was one of two people aboard the boat, which capsized on Saturday afternoon. The boat’s owner was rescued and taken to a Boston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said.
As they search for the man on Sunday, State Police troopers and members of the Coast Guard conducted solar scans, dives and patrols from both air and sea. The search was complicated by challenging conditions, including 6 to 8 foot swells, State Police said.
While State Police did not find the man, they did find evidence of the boat’s wreckage.
The search is set to resume Monday.
Officials have not identified either man.
