A Saugus man killed in a crash in New Hampshire earlier this month was remembered in his obituary as a “bright, kind, and curious young man.”
Benjamin Tapia Gately, 20, died after losing control of his car while speeding on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire on Oct. 19, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Gately was a lifelong Baltimore Ravens fan despite growing up surrounded by fans of the New England Patriots — his devotion to the team was a sign that he would “he would never take the easy, or expected path,” according to his obituary.
In high school, Gately played both soccer and basketball. After high school, Gately pursued an education in plumbing and worked in the field while attending school.
“There are no goodbyes for us, although tears may fall, and hearts may ache, your love lives on in every breath we take,” the obituary reads. “We all love you Benjamin. Rest in peace.”
