Santiago’s Family Restaurant is turning to community to help cover expenses after June fire

WESTFIELD — After a devastating fire swept through building last month where Santiago’s Family Restaurant has been open for nearly 26 years, the family thought it would be only closed a few weeks, but a couple of weeks has turned into month and the family still isn’t sure when they will again start serving their valued customers, and friend.

“Right now, it’s a waiting game … not a sprint but a marathon,” said Marcus Santiago who runs the restaurant known for its Puerto Rican cuisine with the rest of his family.
