Sandra Birchmore, a 23-year-old woman from Stoughton whose death was initially ruled a suicide by Mass. authorities, grew up admiring police.
She joined her hometown’s Police Explorers program as a 12-year-old, and within a year, she met the man who federal authorities would come to charge with her killing.
