Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana was forced to postpone a concert at the last minute after being rushed to the hospital.
The 77-year-old experienced a medical emergency while getting ready for his show in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday night, April 22, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Santana’s manager, Michael Vrionis, told the outlet that the 10-time Grammy-winner suffered from dehydration.
“It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight’s show in San Antonio has been postponed,” Vrionis said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action.”
Vrionis added that Santana “is doing well and is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his US Tour. Thank you all very much for your understanding. The show will be rescheduled soon.”
While this issue appears to not be serious, Entertainment Weekly noted that Santana had to postpone six shows back in 2020 after he collapsed on stage at a show in Michigan. He was also suffering from dehydration in addition to heat exhaustion.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee is currently on his “Oneness Tour 2025.” Santana’s next show is Wednesday night in Sugar Land, Texas. That show appears to be going on as planned.
