Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit

Springfield – St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, Parker Street presents “The Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit,” on display through Sunday, Sept. 10, in the parish center. Bishop Swan Dedicates Predominantly Black Church in Vermont

Brattleboro, VT – On Friday, Sept. 1, jurisdictional bishop of the Vermont Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church Of God In Christ, President of the Greater Springfield NAACP and Pastor of the Spring of Hope Church, Springfield, Bishop Talbert W. Swan, II, Senior Pastor, dedicated the West Village Meeting House, a facility located at 29 South Street, Brattleboro which is the new home of the Spring of Hope Church, Vermont. In their Springfield, MA location since 1980, Spring of Hope Church established a new church and began serving Brattleboro and the surrounding area and is becoming a vital part of the community. The dedication ceremony took place during the Annual Holy Convocation of the Vermont Jurisdiction. Pastor Mark A. Baymon, Sr. of Deliverance Center Ministries Church Of God In Christ, Springfield, was the keynote speaker.

Church events

Springfield – Foster Memorial Church, UCC, 1791 Wilbraham Road in the Sixteen Acres sections will hold their monthly outreach “Drive-In Collection of Donations” on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the church’s back parking lot. They will be collecting non-perishable food for the Emergency Food Cupboard of the Open Pantry in Springfield. All donations are greatly appreciated.

The church worship service time will return to 10 a.m. beginning Sunday, Sept. 10. This is also Rally Sunday, the beginning of a new program year for the church school. There will be special faith-based, fun activities for children and youth from pre-school Through teens, followed by an ice-cream social for the whole congregation. Childcare will also be provided.

Fall tag sale

Holyoke – Our Lady of the Cross Church, 1140 Dwight St. will be holding their fall tag sale on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be held in the parish hall, rain, or shine. For more information, call 413-532-5661.

Thrift shop

Springfield – The thrift shop at St. Gregory Armenian Church, 135 Goodwin St., in the Indian Orchard section, will reopen on Sept. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, go online to saintgregoryarmenianchurch.org.

Flea market, tag/craft sale

Agawam – Feeding Hills Congregational Church is hosting a giant flea market, tag and craft sale on Saturday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be an assortment of crafts, antiques, and tag sale items. The church is located at 21 North Westfield St., in the Feeding Hills section. Space is still available inside the church for $40 or outside for $25. JFS of Western Mass used bicycle drive

Springfield – Jewish Family Services of Western Mass. launches the Joe Dorison Memorial Bike Fund. To kick off the launch, JFS will be holding an Open House Used Bicycle Drive on Sunday, Sept. 10, noon to 3 p.m. In partnership with RadSpringfield: Make-It Springfield’s Community Bike Shop, funds raised and used bikes collected will be used to distribute bicycles to newly arriving refugees in their New American program to provide a means of transportation to the clients as they get jobs in the local area. Jewish New Year

Longmeadow – The Jewish New Year begins on Friday, Sept. 15 at sundown. As the High Holiday season approaches, Lubavitcher Yeshiva academy (LYA) will be holding holiday programming and services for all members of the community to celebrate. LYA will hold Rosh Hashana services on Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. a special children’s program will be held at 10 a.m. each day. The children’s program will include games, activities, and snack. Shofar blowing will take place on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. LYA is open to all members of the community regardless of affiliation. There is no charge to attend. Services will be held at LYA, 1148 Converse St. Families are invited to join LYA at Turner Park in Longmeadow near the pond for a special Tashlich service and Shofar blowing at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17. Sunderland – First Congregational Church of Sunderland, 91 S. Main St., Serendipity Shop is open on Saturdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with items for sale at bargain prices.

Dinner and organ concert

Monson – On Friday, Sept. 15, First Church of Monson will hold a dinner and organ concert open to the public. Featured artists performing on the Three Manual Johnson & son Organ, Opus 781, 1892, will be Kiel Krommer, Director of Music Ministry at First Church and Wesley Hall, Music Director at Second Baptist Church, Worcester. The program will include classical and contemporary pieces to highlight the sounds of the Johnson. The dinner menu will include ham, pasta salad, fruit, pickled beets, Italian bread, and a raspberry dessert. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner and concert are $20, tickets for the concert will be sold at the door for $5. Huge Tag Sale

Agawam – Agawam Congregations Church, located at 745 Main St., is having a huge tag sale on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16, 9 a.m. to noon. Toys, books, sports cards, household items, seasonal décor, clothing, shoes, bags and much more.

Art show and online auction

Haydenville – An art show and an online auction are on tap this month at the Haydenville Congregational Church. Bidding is now open for the auction, which has a big range of goods and services, including art work, jewelry, food, lessons and services, Native American crafts items, furniture, yard items, outdoor gear, dolls and toys. According to church trustee Megan Jewett, the online auction benefits the church and the Williamsburg ‘Take and Eat’ program that supplies seniors with weekend meals. The auction ends Sept. 16, which is the day of an Art Show and Sale held on the grounds of the church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than a dozen artisans from the area will display their work. The church is at 143 Main Street, Haydenville. Auction items will be on display in the church dining room during the Art Fair with bidding ending at the end of the fair. Fall festival

Westfield – Holy Trinity Parish, will be holding its fall festival on Sunday, Sept. 17, noon to 5 p.m. at Pilsudski Park, 200 Old County Road, Holyoke. The day will begin with Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. The festival will feature a Polish Kitchen serving the popular Polish Plate with pierogi, golumbki, kielbasa and kapusta. You may also purchase orders individually. The American Kitchen will serve hot dogs, hamburgers, and kielbasa grinders. Take-out orders will be available the day of the event. The bake sale will have homemade pastries. The festival will include Bingo, straw booth, games of chance, a Chinese Raffle, plus a 50/50 Raffle. There will be children’s games, activities, and a Bounce House. The Windstar Band will provide Polish and American music from 1 to 5 p.m. in the ballroom. The Northside Creamery will be selling ice cream. The festival is open to the public with free admission and parking, held rain or shine. Handicap golf cart shuttle transportation from parking to festival grounds.

Fall festival

Holyoke – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 485 Appleton St., will hold their fall festival on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parish hall and on the church grounds. There will be something for everyone: gift basket raffles, 50/50 raffle, vendors, plants, bake sale, a café and outdoor activities for families. Upcoming church trips

Springfield – St. Catherine of Siena presents a bus trip to the Divine Mercy Shrine on Oct. 5. Bring your own lunch to eat on picnic tables under the tents, explore the grounds, pray the Stations of the Cross (outdoors), and visit the gift shop housing many religious articles and books. A schedule of events includes the following: Adoration and Confessions, Rosary for Life, Mass (outdoors), and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The bus departs from the church’s parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and leaves the Shrine at 4 p.m. The cost is $42 per person, due upon reservation and is non-refundable. Mystery, comedy and dinner show

Southwick – Knights of Columbus Rev. Thomas A. Shea Council #11178 presents “Mystery, Comedy and Dinner” show on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Our Lady of the Lake Church, 224 Sheep Pasture Road. Crafters wanted

Seeking artisans and crafters

Enfield, Conn. – The Women’s Guild of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish is sponsoring its annual “Fall into Winter Craft Fair” on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Holy Family Church Hall and classrooms. The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with set up available on Friday, Nov. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. and early Saturday morning. A few table/spaces are still available for unique handmade products. Sacred Heart Church upcoming trips

Springfield – Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St. Travel Club is back. Jim and Caroline McAleer are the trip leaders. On Saturday, Nov. 18, Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. Cost, they are awaiting ticket and bus prices, but anticipate approximately $175 per person to include round trip bus, orchestra seat to the 5 p.m. performance (lasts 90 minutes), time in NYC on your own, and driver gratuity. Short rest stop on the way to NYC and on the way home. The bus departs from sacred Heart at 7:30 a.m. and the bus departs NYC immediately following the show with approximately 10:30 p.m. return. Vendors wanted for Christmas bazaar

Agawam – The Agawam Congregational Church wishes to announce that they have set the date for their Christmas Bazaar. It will be held on Nov. 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will include a bakery, raffles, vendors, cafe and a Santa’s workshop. If you wish to be a vendor, applications are available at the church office. Agawam – St. John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main St. will offer weekly adoration ceremonies on Wednesdays between noon and 5:30 p.m. The Holy Mass takes place at 6 p.m. Lawn signs are available for Agawam residents announcing the Year of the Eucharist.
