BOSTON — On the eve of the MLB trade deadline, the Red Sox finished off some unrelated business.
Boston announced that its three most expensive picks in this year’s draft — first-round outfielder Braden Montgomery, second-round left-hander Payton Tolle and eight-round two-way player Conrad Cason — have all signed with the club and will report to Fort Myers. The Red Sox have now officially signed 16 of their 20 picks, including the first nine, and hope to finish all 20 agreements by Thursday’s signing deadline.
