ANAHEIM, Calif. — Marcelo Mayer typically exudes confidence, so when he was asked what he thought about his new assignment at second base for the Red Sox Tuesday and responded with some uncertainty, it was worth noting.
“I don’t know. We’ll see,” said Mayer with a shrug. “I don’t have any experience there in the big leagues obviously, so I’m just going to go out there and take grounders for the first time and just try to get ready for the game.”
