MLB Trade Rumors on Friday released its projected 2024 salaries for all arbitration eligible players. The Red Sox have five arbitration eligible players: Alex Verdugo, Nick Pivetta, Reese McGuire, John Schreiber and Luis Urías.
Verdugo will be in his final year of arbitration eligibility and so he’s eligible for free agency after next season. MLB Trade Rumors projects Verdugo to earn $9.2 million in 2024, a $2.9 million salary increase from ‘23.
Pivetta also is eligible for free agency after 2024. MLB Trade Rumors projects Pivetta to receive $6.9 million, a $1.55 million increase from his 2023 salary.
The website also projects Urías to earn $4.7 million, McGuire $1.7 million and Schreiber $1.3 million.

Urías is a non-tender candidate. Would Boston want to pay him $4.7 million after he batted just .194 with a .337 on-base percentage, .299 slugging percentage and .636 OPS in 52 games (177 plate appearances) between the Brewers and Red Sox in ‘23? Boston acquired him from the Brewers at the Aug. 1 trade deadline. He posted a .225/.361/.337/.698 line in 32 games (109 plate appearances) for the Red Sox.
