A staple hangout spot in Templeton that had just reopened was destroyed by a large fire Wednesday night that started while patrons were inside.
The Otter River Pub and Red Onion Pool Hall on Main Street in Templeton caught fire around 10 p.m. on Sept. 27, according to the Westminster Fire Department on Facebook.
Photos posted by the department showed flames shooting out of the top floor of the building.
Crews saw heavy fire coming from the back of the building. The department said the fire ended up reaching four alarms.
Around 1:15 a.m. most of the fire had been put out. But the department said crews would be present throughout the night hitting hot spots.
Everyone made it out safely and no injuries were reported, according to WCVB.
The pub was hosting an open mic night when the fire broke out, according to a Facebook post from the business. The event was scheduled until midnight.
The pub had recently reopened after being closed for a couple of months in the summer to undergo renovations, Boston25 reported. The building itself is over 100 years old, the outlet added.
The building was a total loss, according to the news outlet. The investigation is ongoing.
