
A railroad worker was struck and killed Friday by a piece of railroad equipment as he worked on a stretch of track in Great Barrington.
The Berkshire Eagle reported that the man was working in a remote area near the Sheffield line at about 10 a.m. when he was “run over” by a piece of equipment.
Fire crews from Great Barrington and Sheffield as well as Sheffield police responded to the scene to extricate the man from the equipment.
