A Rhode Island woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on I-195 in Seekonk Sunday night, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
The woman has been identified as 18-year-old Providence resident Abriana Herrera Perez, the district attorney’s office said in a press release.
Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of the crash on the westbound side of the highway around 11 p.m., the district attorney’s office said. Emergency responders found Herrera Perez in the roadway with fatal injuries and declared her dead at the scene.
Authorities located three vehicles that were involved in the crash, the district attorney’s office said. One was a black Mazda 3 that came to rest in the right travel lane.
The second was a red Toyota Tacoma, which they found upside down in the median, and the third was a blue Yamaha motorcycle, the district attorney’s office said. All three had “disabling damage.”
The 33-year-old man who had been riding the motorcycle was injured in the crash and taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, the district attorney’s office said. The 69-year-old woman who had been driving the Tacoma was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
Herrera Perez and three other teens were in the Mazda 3 at the time of the crash, the district attorney’s office said. An 18-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were all taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the crash.
