It was supposed to just be a regular bus ride from Holyoke to Springfield for Selena Santana, who was eight months pregnant with her third child. But a nearby shooting her bus passed in the middle of the day on Wednesday, Oct. 4, led to a devastating loss for her, and continuing ongoing medical complications.
Santana said she could see the men fighting and could see when they started shooting.
“The light had turned green and the bus started turning,” Santana said in a phone interview from Baystate Medical Center in Springfield on Monday, adding that the gunshots, “sounded like fireworks.”
