
With no winners on Wednesday night, the Powerball jackpot is at an estimated $1.5 billion before its next drawing.
This is the fifth-largest jackpot in Powerball history and the seventh-largest in all lottery history.
With a cash value of $686.5 million, the prize has been rolling since Sept. 6, when two winning tickets split a $1.787 billion prize. The tickets were sold in Missouri and in Texas.
Someone in Massachusetts did win $2 million during the drawing on Wednesday night, after matching the first five numbers on their PowerPlay ticket. The ticket was bought in North Andover at a shop called Winner’s Corner MA.
The next Powerball drawing will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 10:59 p.m.
Tickets cost $2 each and can be purchased at Massachusetts State Lottery retailers across the state until 9:50 p.m. Saturday.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
