SPRINGFIELD – Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi stood Wednesday greeting politicos known and not so known as they strolled their way down from a parking lot into a picnic grove.
“It’s about gratitude toward my staff and the service they provide behind the fences,” Cocchi said, referring to rehabilitation programs offered to people involved in the justice system, incarcerated or not. “That’s the main thing I keep hearing as people come down that hill. Gratitude.”
