Planning Board continues public hearing on revoking bond requirements for developers of Sunnyside Ranch Estates

SOUTHWICK — When the Planning Board scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday night to conclude the town’s participation in a lawsuit filed in 2022 to force the developers of Sunnyside Ranch Estates to finish paving two roads in the subdivision, it was with the expectation the hearing would just be a formality.

It wasn’t — after two owners of property in the subdivision asked for the town’s help to recoup $501,700 the members of the Sunnyside Ranch Estates Property Owners’ Association paid to have the two roads repaired.

“We’re stuck with the bill for work that should have been done and should have been reviewed and signed off on by the town,” said Mark Fulco speaking as a member of the Sunnyside Ranch Estates POA during the board’s meeting Tuesday.
