WESTFIELD — On Aug. 19, the Planning Board convened with Cheryl Crowe chairing pro temp, and voted to approve a special permit for new construction and an amended site plan, both in the north end of the city.
NextGen Construction Service owned by Rene Gauthier applied for a special permit and site plan to build a contractor’s shop and retail building with access to Southampton Road and Airport Drive on three acres just north of Hometown Structures.
Rob Levesque of R. Levesque Associates presented the proposal for two 7,200-square-foot buildings; a contractor’s shop in the rear, which will be solely used by NextGen Construction, and a front building for office or retail with undetermined clients, with parking in both the front and the rear.
