The new Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester officially opened on Aug. 26, 2024. Since then, more than 1,600 students are now attending the 425,000-square-foot high school at 299 Highland St.
The new high school replaces the old high school that opened in the 1960s and the project to build a new school began in 2019. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Oct. 17 to celebrate the completion of the school and featured a reveal of a plaque to commemorate the day.
