2025 Brew at the Zoo at Forest Park in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD — Guests that arrived at the noontime opening of Brew at the Zoo at the Forest Park Zoo in Springfield on Saturday were greeted by Ella, a very vocal cockatoo.
Ella and her brother, Perry, were once pets that were then surrendered to the zoo, a zookeeper explained to guests.
Deeper into the zoo, more animals awaited visitors, including Thelma the alligator, a snake, and a Madagascar hissing cockroach.
Saturday’s Brew at the Zoo event, a sold-out affair, featured cold beer on tap from more than two dozen breweries, including: One Way Brewing, Altruist Brewing Company, Abandoned Building Brewery, Berkshire Brewing Co., Leadfoot Brewing, Beatbox Beverages, Greater Good Imperial Brewing Co., Sam Adams, Sun Cruiser, Brew Practitioners, Censored Munky, Rustic Brewing Company, Seven Railroads Brewing Company, Vanished Valley Brewing Co., Loophole Brewing, Side-Gig Brewery, Catseyesoup Brewing, SPARGE Homebrew Club, Matts Brew Research Lab, Beerfort Brewing, Beech Hill Brewery, 4 Walls Brewing, Big Bee Brewing, Screaming Cider, Forest King, Ghost Frequency Brewing Co. and Happy Trails Tavern.
Food was served up by Elo’s Hibachi, Chappy’s MCE, Souper Sweet Wheels and CZP’s Frozen Treats. Live music was provided by the Stillwater Band.
