Monson Savings Bank announces the promotion of Awildo “Wil” Morales to assistant vice president community lending officer.
Morales, a Ludlow resident, has been with Monson Savings Bank for over eight years and previously served as branch manager and security officer.
With 15 years of experience in retail and banking, Morales holds an associate’s degree in science business administration from Holyoke Community College. He has completed the New England School of Financial Studies, the Employers Association of New England Leadership Class, and the X-Team program. Morales has also developed and led training programs for retail employees in personal and business account opening.
Prior to joining Monson Savings Bank, Morales was a branch manager at Berkshire Bank for six years.
He is involved with the Quaboag Chamber of Commerce referral group, teaching financial literacy at local schools and senior centers in Monson and Ware and is a member of the bank’s Fraud, Waste Watchers and CRA/Fair Lending Committees.

Northwestern Assistant District Attorney and Child Protection Unit Chief Lori Odierna was honored April 3 with the Massachusetts District Attorneys Association Spotlight Award at the organization’s annual conference in Boston. Odierna began working at the Northwestern DA’s office in 2016, joined its Child Protection Unit in 2018 and was promoted to lead the unit in 2022. Previously she worked for 20 years as an ADA in Hampden County.
Odierna was one of 11 prosecutors from across the state honored by the MDAA, an independent state agency supporting the 11 elected district attorneys, 785 prosecutors and 260 victim witness advocates. The Spotlight Award is given for outstanding service, spirit and professionalism. Also this month in honor of Victim Rights Month, the Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance announced length-of-service milestones at DA’s offices. Northwestern District Victim Witness advocates Kate Clogston, Kathleen Bengtson and Kimberly Devine each have logged 15 years as advocates.

Greenfield Fire Department Captain Peter McIver will now serve as the department’s deputy chief. McIver will be the city’s first Fire Department deputy chief since 2016.
McIver joined the Greenfield Fire Department in April 2007. Across his 18-year career with the department, McIver received several promotions, including a promotion to lieutenant in 2013 and captain in 2022.
He served as the Fire Department union president for 14 years and as a member of the Greenfield Fire Station Building Committee. He remains an active member of the Fire Department’s drone unit and the Massachusetts Hazardous Materials Emergency Response team.
In addition, McIver achieved his fire chief credentialing from the Massachusetts Fire Service Commission.
