The Patriots are adding more depth to their defense for their trip to Miami.
On Saturday, Mike Vrabel’s team elevated rookie cornerback Kobee Minor and veteran linebacker Mark Robinson to the game-day roster. Sunday will be Minor’s NFL debut. This marks the second time Robinson has been elevated to start the season.
Drafted by the Patriots with the final pick, No. 257, in the 2025 draft, Minor was cut at the end of training camp and signed to the team’s practice squad. Cornerback depth was needed after the Patriots cut D.J. James last week. Minor will add depth behind Carlton Davis, Marcus Jones, Alex Austin, and Charles Woods.
The Patriots signed Robinson to their practice squad on Aug. 28. A seventh-round pick in 2022, he played in every game for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the last two seasons as a core special teamer and reserve linebacker.
The Patriots elevated Robinson to their active roster last weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders. He played 14 special-teams snaps, making two tackles.
The Dolphins won’t be at full strength on Sunday as the team placed starting right tackle Austin Jackson on the injured reserve. Miami will also be without starting right guard James Daniels, who was previously placed on the injured reserve.
Miami also signed cornerback Cornell Armstrong to its 53-man roster and elevated kicker Riley Patterson and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. to the active roster for Sunday’s game.
