The Patriots have elevated cornerback Kobee Minor and linebacker Mark Robinson from the practice squad for Sunday’s game with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Minor’s activation coincides with the unavailability of Christian Gonzalez. Originally listed as questionable, Gonzalez was downgraded to out on Saturday afternoon. Minor — drafted in the Mr. Irrelevant slot last spring — was also active last week in Miami and played two snaps on special teams.
As for Robinson, this is the final possible practice squad elevation for the linebacker, as he’s appeared in each of New England’s first two games, too.
The veteran has logged 26 snaps on special teams thus far and made his impact felt against the Dolphins. On a kickoff, Robinson steamrolled a member of Miami’s return team to draw a holding call.
He’s logged a tackle in each of the first two games, and with New England currently holding an open spot on their 53-man roster, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Robinson signed as a full-time member next week.
