Owner turns $1 million Mass. home into superhero museum for open house

The gray exterior of the million-dollar home listed at 50 Bare Hill Road in Topsfield hides a much more colorful sight inside — an impressive array of superheroes.

A Zillow listing for the property boasts the home as having four bedrooms, four baths, an in-law suite, an acre of land … oh, and nearly a dozen superhero mannequins arrayed around the home that will be present at the open house.

“Batman and a load of female super heroes will be present at the open house! Each mannequin is a true work of art. Come check this unique property, take pictures with some all-time fans’ favorites, and make it a family outing,” the listing reads.

Photos of the property show Wonder Woman and Cat Woman arrayed in the halls, Maleficent and Supergirl looming over two different bedrooms, Bat Girl — complete with motorcycle — in another bedroom, Poison Ivy at the base of the stairs and a selection of others arrayed in different rooms.

The house even has an elevator, presumably that descends into these heroes’ secret hideout.

A Reddit user had some fun with the Zillow listing, posting photos from the listing to Reddit under the title “when your house is so normal you need to turn it into a wax museum to feel alive.”

“This is the wild Zillow content I am here for!” one commenter wrote.

Another commenter discussed a difficulty with having so many mannequins in the home: “Imagine going for a glass of water at night and catch a glimpse of a lurking wax figure. I would have a heart attack.”

With the above in mind, a third commenter suggested a prank: “Rent it as an Airbnb. Don’t include the wax figures in the photos. Only allow nighttime arrivals.”

The home is listed at $1,069,000. Built in 1986, the home has been listed on Zillow for four days.
