A popular car seat brand is recalling one of its products due to a risk of injury.
Evenflo is recalling certain Titan 65 child seats after an incorrect instruction manual was included.
“A child seat with an incorrect instruction manual may result in improper installation and an improperly restrained child, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash,” the safety recall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated.
The car seats will have the model number 3712198 and were manufactured between March 17 and May 1.
There are 36,694 car seats affected by the recall.
A report states that different safety instructions were included due to “retention of a large number of new employees” and “insufficient error checking.”
After May 1, additional error checking was implemented by the company to assure that the correct instructions were packaged with the car seat.
Evenflo is expected to mail customers information on how to inspect and replace the instruction manual, free of charge. The notification letters are expected to be mailed on July 15. Customers should get the letters by Aug. 15. Customers can also contact Evenflo customer service at 1-800-233-5921.
